Yellow wind and rainfall warnings in place for some counties this morning

Yellow wind and rain weather warnings are in place for some counties today and will remain in place until this afternoon

Wind and rain warnings are in place for various parts of the country this morning.

A Status Yellow rainfall warning is in place in Dublin, Louth, Wicklow and Meath until 2 pm this afternoon. While a Status Yellow wind warning is also in place in Clare, Cork and Kerry and remains in place until midday.

Met Éireann has warned that heavy rain last night and this morning may cause some river and spot flooding.

Southerly winds veering west to northwest are expected to reach speeds of 55-65km/h at times, with gusts of 90-110km/h. These winds will be strongest in coastal areas and on exposed hills and mountains.

The forecaster says very windy conditions are expected in Munster this morning.

Highest temperatures today are to range between 11 to 14 degrees.

The outlook for the rest of the week is mixed. Tonight will be cold and blustery with clear spells and showers, some heavy and possibly thundery in Atlantic coastal counties with lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees. Tomorrow will be fresh and breezy with sunny spells and scattered showers. The showers will become increasingly isolated later in the day. However, it will turn cloudier in the west and southwest by evening with the chance of some rain there before dark.
