Outset Design indoor market

Saturday 25 March, The Cornstore, Galway city

The inaugural ‘Galway Indoor Market’ will take place this weekend, featuring stalls showcasing the very best of vintage, retro, second hand, and handmade pieces from independent businesses and creative individuals from Galway and beyond. There’ll be vinyl, clothes, jewellery, furniture, crafts, art and botany for sale, as well as live art demos and a DJ spinning tunes throughout the day.

The Five Lamps Arts Festival

Until 2 April, Various locations across Dublin

2023 marks the festival’s sixteenth year of showcasing the best Irish and international arts and culture with a stunningly inclusive lineup of events taking place across the north inner city of Dublin. One of the highlights of this year’s festival is the Winds of Change, a captivating multi-media exhibition by social documentary photographer and filmmaker Paul Kelly. Another exciting event is an adaptation for the stage of the short story by Roddy Doyle called The Five Lamps, directed by Joe O’Byrne.

Beyond Black — Amy Winehouse Exhibition

Until 7 May, The Museum of Style Icons at Newbridge Silverware, Kildare

The exhibition, entitled Beyond Black – Celebrating the Career and Style of Amy Winehouse, incorporates several original garments and property once owned and worn by the legendary singer including some never-before-seen dresses designed by her personal stylist and close friend, Naomi Parry. Launched by Naomi Parry and another close friend of Amy Winehouse, Catriona Gourlay, the exhibition is open to the public free of charge.

Prix Pictet: Fire

Until 29 April, Photo Museum Ireland, Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, Dublin

An exhibition that explored the pertinent topic of ‘fire’ presented by thirteen international photographers, the works of Prix Pictet: Fire span documentary, portraiture, landscape, collage and studies of light and process. The exhibition showcases the world-class photography shortlisted for the prestigious Prix Pictet, the global award with a unique commitment to promoting discussion and debate on issues of sustainability and the environment.

Cork Whiskey Fest

24-26 March, Across Cork city’s historic Victorian Quarter

Centred on MacCurtain Street, Cork Whiskey Fest 2023 will concentrate whiskey fans on one street, for three days for plenty of craic and fantastic whiskey experiences. Spanning a grand total of 34 events across the weekend, this festival is making Cork the epicentre of Irish whiskey for three days only.
