Social Pictures: The Little Mermaid special evening screening

Guests on the night certainly knocked the dress code out of the park.

Mums-to-be Blainaid Treacy and Louis Cooney were among the faces who stepped out to see the live action remake of the 1989 classic.

The special preview screening of Disney’s The Little Mermaid took place at the Light House Cinema in Dublin, and brought out many familiar faces, including Doireann Garihy, Bonnie Ryan and James Patrice to relive the Disney magic.

Hitting theatres around Ireland today, the film stars Halle Bailey in the role of Ariel, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, and Melissa McCarthy as everyone’s favourite Disney villain, Ursula.

As the story goes, the youngest of King Triton’s daughters is a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. Longing to find out more about the world beyond the sea, Ariel visits the surface and falls for the dashing Prince Eric. Following her heart, she makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to experience life on land.

Guests on the night certainly went the extra mile when it came to under the sea dressing, donning mermaid-esque outfits and generally fitting with the night’s theme perfectly.
