Kris Jenner pressured 26-year-old Kendall into freezing her eggs, and fans are uncomfortable

According to Kris Jenner, 26 is an appropriate age to start urging someone to freeze their eggs.

In a recent episode of The Kardashians — the new iteration of the reality show streaming on Hulu and Disney+ — Kris donned the hat of interfering mother as she casually dropped into conversation that she thinks Kendall Jenner should consider freezing her eggs.

“When it comes to you guys, I get so excited and proud,” Kris begins. “I was just thinking, maybe it’s time to, you know, have a baby.” A statement that clearly came out of left field, the model and founder of 818 Tequila choked on her coffee.

“You keep telling me, ‘you’re not getting any younger,’ but guess what, mom? It’s my life, okay? I don’t know if I’m ready yet,” Kendall diplomatically responded.

Taking things to a whole new level of weirdness, Kris doubled down on this line of inquiry. “When you were born, I made your body inside my body,” she said. “So I made your eggs inside of me. That means that I made your eggs.”

Reminding her daughter that with every passing year, her egg count goes down a little bit more, the mother of six called up Dr Thaïs Aliabadi, an OB-GYN, to strengthen her argument.

“For Kendall, if she has a partner and if they’re not married, I usually recommend at least the cycle of egg freezing,” the gynaecologist said. “It would be a good time to freeze eggs. Listen, the younger you are, the better the quality.”

Kris, emboldened by this medical opinion, rejoiced. “Well I think it’s unanimous! We’re gonna have a baby!” Speaking for everyone watching, the 26-year-old Kendall said, “No. Not right now. You’re making me uncomfortable.”

In a confessional filmed later, the model explained — though she absolutely did not have to — that she’s not quite ready to have a baby of her own. “I still have a lot to figure out before I can, like, welcome a child into my life. I’m still, like, enjoying life on my own, and I’m OK with that right now.”

Not the first time the Kardashian matriarch has made these feelings known, Kendall previously told E! News that Kris is “100 percent” pressuring her to start a family with new beau Devin Booker. She says, “[Kris] will just randomly text me and be like, ‘I think it’s time,’ and I’m like, ‘Is this not up to me?'”

In a video interview with Extra Kendall is once again subject to questioning about whether or not she plans to have a child. Revealing that while she does get ‘baby fever’ around her sisters’ kids, she’s just “living life right now as a free bird.”

In a British YouGov poll released in January 2020, it was found that 19% of participants across the UK ‘did not want children, but might change their minds in the future’. That’s one in five women, which translates quite nicely to the Kardashian clan.

Of Kris Jenner’s five daughters, Kendall is the only one yet to become a mother. Whether this is because she is literally only 26 years old, or she intends to stay voluntarily childless indefinitely, that is up to her and her alone.

While beginning the egg-freezing process at a younger age is recommended to those who want to avail of this resource, the majority of Irish fertility websites state that your early 30s are the ideal age to enter into the process.

Having raised five daughters, and welcoming eleven grandchildren already, Kris Jenner was likely acting as a concerned mother — but the choice to have a baby is Kendall’s prerogative.
