‘It’s been hard to keep such happy news quiet’: Laura Whitmore announces pregnancy news with sweet snap

The 35-year-old Love Island presenter took to Instagram to share her baby news

Bray-born TV presenter Laura Whitmore and Love Island co-host Iain Stirling, 32, have announced that they are expecting a baby alongside a Guns n’ Roses “Sweet Child O Mine” onesie with the caption ‘Coming 2021’.

The former MTV star shared her baby joy on Instagram yesterday; “So I’ve always tried to be protective over the personal side of my life. A lot of things are just for me and my loved ones and we’ve chosen not to share publicly,” she wrote.

“However I want to now share good news as it’s our news to share – and I’m gonna be honest it’s starting to look like my lock down beer belly is out of control. Iain and I are expecting a baby early 2021,” she continues.

Beauty of life

Whitmore, who stepped in for Caroline Flack as presenter of Love Island, also pointed out that she’d been juggling pregnancy with presenting her radio show as well as participating in comedy show Celebrity Juice.

“It’s been hard to keep such happy news quiet. Especially the times when I’ve had to run out of live radio to get sick in a bin or my penchant for a bowl of mashed potato in the morning. I wasn’t hungover like everyone thought. In fact, I was completely sober filming the entire series of Celeb Juice, which is quite the accolade!” she says.

“We’d appreciate our privacy respected but just wanted to spread some love and a reminder of the beauty of life” she added including a heart emoji.

Stirling also made the news public. The voice of Love Island posted an image of his gaming console with a note attached on its side that read: “I will miss you xxx.”

He wrote “Sorry to my old babies but there is a new baby coming early 2021”

Wedding

The happy news comes a month after the couple reportedly got married in secret at a humanist ceremony in Dublin’s City Hall in November.

A marriage certificate obtained by the Sun shows that Laura’s half-brother Adam McIvor and Iain’s sister Kirsten Stirling acted as witnesses and was in accordance with level 5 restrictions which were enforced at the time.

In a cryptic tweet, Whitmore seemed to address the reports of her wedding telling followers that she’ll share her news if and when she wants to. “Little thought of the day… If and when I ever have personal news I want to share, I will be the one to share it”.

The couple has been dating since 2017. It’s believed they got engaged in South Africa during filming last year. We wish them well.
