No colour combination is as famous as black and white, and monochrome is once again chalking out its place in the world of fashion and interiors…
Green Flash and Iced Coffee are just two of Pantone’s ten colours forecast to be trending this year, yet neither has us rushing to the shops to emulate them in our wardrobes or our homes. So we’re delighted that the inherently chic colour combination of black and white has taken a foothold in many a coveted S/S 2016 catalogue.
High-contrast black and white schemes always appear bold and sharp and seem to pack a more powerful interior design punch than any other colour combination, for the same reasons that we love a black and white selfie –because of the emphasised contrasts, even tones and timelessness of this stylish look.
Current offerings work monochrome into entrancing and dynamic patterns. From high-street to high-end interiors shops, Ikea to Missoni, we’ve been bowled over by how this back-to-basics scheme is being reworked in a multitude of patterns across a wide spectrum of styles. Whether you lean towards zebra prints and organic lines or graffiti and graphic prints, there are a huge range of high-impact homewares and accessories to choose from… (Pictured above: Missoni Ridley throw, €240, Dust.)
