Looking for something to do this Good Friday? Why not head to some of the biggest BYOB parties this side of summer, head to a chic boutique hotel for a treat, or be part of the MusicTown city-wide festival!

There’s no need to be turned off of Good Friday just because of an age-old alcohol ban because there is loads of activity happening in and around Dublin city tomorrow (alcohol and non-alcohol events included). From free outdoor music performances, BYOB festivals, to charity easter egg hunt, here is five ideas for your Good Friday diary tomorrow.

Spend The Night Dancing Under The Stars Here

BD Festival returns to the scenic Glendalough House tomorrow night and it’s going to be a big one. The festival is celebrating its 10th birthday this year and includes bigger and more acts than ever including Boots & KatsDJ DeeceÆ MAKSam GreenwoodEoin DonovanMarcus O’LaoireColin Devine plus more Irish and international acts. Go Here If You Need A Night On The Town

In 1924, the Irish government introduced the Intoxicating Liquor Act, which made it illegal to “sell or expose for sale any intoxicating liquor” on Good Friday, St Patrick’s Day, and Christmas Day. however, hotels are allowed to serve a drink when accompanied with a meal on Good Friday. With that in mind, we recommend heading to one of Dublin cities beautiful boutique hotels like the quaint Dean Hotel, The Dylan Hotel, or the cosy old School House Hotel.

Be Part Of The Music Here

Enjoy a celebration of a symphony of sounds across the capital with MusicTown 2017 – a city-wide music festival taking place from April 7th to 17th.
Showcasing the city’s immense musical talent, heritage and vibrancy, the public is invited to dive into this celebration of all types of music, as it’s created and enjoyed throughout the city. Music events taking place tomorrow include MEL C (yes, THE Mel C), John Prine, and Kevin Rowland but you can see the full MusicTown schedule here.

Chocolate is now a major part of how we celebrate Easter – but at least you can eat your eggs for a good cause. Tomorrow, April 14th and Saturday, April 15th will see Merrion Square taken over by an enormous easter egg hunt, organised by Cadbury chocolate makers to raise funds for Barnardo’s Children’s Charity. Tickets are €20 per family of four or €5 per extra individual, and all proceeds go directly to the charity. For more info and to register for this family-friendly, click here.
