Gwyneth Paltrow Didn’t Come Up With Her Infamous ?Consciously Uncoupling? Phrase

Gwyneth Paltrow Didn’t Come Up With Her Infamous ?Consciously Uncoupling? Phrase

Love her or hate her, Gwyneth Paltrow and her infamous phrases and strange ideas such as what we should be doing while we shower, and how to yawn have a knack for sticking in the public subconscious. The two phrases she is now arguably best known for is her ?consciously uncoupling? from ex-husband Chris Martin, and that one time she told us we should all ‘steam clean our vaginas? (still no, Gwyn).

We actually don’t mind the consciously uncoupling thing, it makes sense and seems sweet, even if we have heard it so many times that we’re driven demented. However, after all the fuss that was created over the phrase, now it seems that Gwyneth didn’t even come up with it herself. After all that!

According to Page Six, Gwyneth is now claiming she didn’t come up with her infamous GOOP terms ?conscious uncoupling? and ?vaginal steam cleaning.?

While Paltrow said she approves all stories on her lifestyle website, she claims the controversial ?Conscious Uncoupling? headline on the 2014 piece, announcing her split from Chris Martin, and the January 2015 feature on ?vaginal steaming? actually came from her editorial director, Elise Loehnen.

Paltrow told Fast Company’s September issue the headline on the Goop story on her split from Coldplay frontman Martin was Loehnen’s brainchild.

?When I announced that I was separating on the website Loehnen titled the piece ?Conscious Uncoupling,? and I had no idea,? she said. Paltrow also added Loehnen also penned the piece about a $50 vaginal steam treatment at an LA spa.

The vaginal steam-cleaning article received particular backlash, but Paltrow said she wasn’t that bothered about it.

?When something like that happens, I think everybody [in the Goop office] is like, ?Oh s?-?-?t,??? she added. ?But, I just tell them that I think we are creating interesting discussions.?

It’s interesting that they didn’t come from Paltrow, we wonder what she had help coming up with?
