Team IMAGE on their summer shopping wishlists

Team IMAGE on their summer shopping wishlists

Comfy sandals, bucket hats, tie-dye – team IMAGE have a very nostalgic list of summer staples on their wishlists.

I lost one of my plastic Birkenstocks in Donegal and am desperate to replace them, so comfy and great for walking down a rocky/seaweedy beach when you’re getting in for a dip.

Friends have raved about La Roche-Posay Anthelios and I’m just waiting to finish off my current bottle before I pick it up. The one I’m using is thick and very chalky which isn’t ideal for my face, whereas I’m told Anthelios is light and just melts away. I’m really ready to just commit to one facial sunscreen now so hoping this is it.

I’m not quite ready to let the summer go yet so I will be buying one of Cos’ t-shirt dresses. Not too short or too long, they’re light and airy and mega comfy without looking like you’re wearing a sack.

I really fell off the reading wagon during the pandemic but I’m trying to reel myself back in now with a very manageable book a month. I just finished Somebody’s Daughter: A Memoir by Ashley C. Ford (would recommend) and August’s book is Miranda Cowley Heller’s The Paper Palace. It follows a wealthy woman summering in Cape Cod after a sultry affair – sounds like perfect summer reading. – Lauren Heskin, Editor, IMAGE.ie

I’ve had my eye on this gorgeous linen shirt from H&M for weeks now but in a highly serendipitous encounter, I managed to find a very similar version in a charity shop. Might still invest in the above though… Pale yellow and a summer tan make for the perfect combo.

I bought this hat back in May, and I’d go so far as to say it’s been my best purchase so far this year. Over the top, but utterly fabulous.

Cropped culotte jeans are a staple for me – partly because I’m very short so they rarely drag on the ground, but mostly because they’re very flattering and look really cool (at least I think they do). I love this two-tone pair from Mango.

I think everyone needs a green gingham scrunchie, don’t you? Anything with the Aisling Kavanagh seal of approval immediately goes to the top of my wishlist. Gingham is also just a very fun word to say. – Sarah Finnan, Staff Writer, IMAGE.ie

Three words: shorts with pockets. After too many walks where I’m heading out the door only to realise I’ve nowhere to put my phone and keys, a pair of shorts with pockets is top of my wishlist at the moment. I’m not going to even get into how ridiculous the lack of pockets in women’s clothing is here, but what I will say is these shorts have a relaxed shape I love that will work equally well with a t-shirt and trainers on a walk, or paired with a shirt and sandals.

Colourful beaded necklaces are the epitome of summer dressing for me, and I’d love this one to add a beachy vibe to any outfit.

I have these jeans in white and live in them, so naturally I’m considering a blue pair as well. They’re such a great shape, even if I have to roll them up to get the intended cropped look.

I’ve been eyeing up a gorgeously soft tie-dyed jumper for some time, and this could just be the one that persuades me to take the plunge. – Megan Burns, Deputy Editor, IMAGE and IMAGE Interiors

This past year, I’ve started wearing a lot less make-up, which has freed up more time to spend on creative hairstyles. Lately, I’ve been on the hunt for cute and colourful, oversized scrunchies. These ones on Etsy are great; they’re made from recycled silk and come in gorgeous, boho patterns.

I’ve been obsessed with anything tie-dye lately. It’s so nostalgic for 90s babies (like myself) and it has me reminiscing on my preteen years, where we’d make our own tie-dye shirts in the bathtub before a pep rally the next day. I love this psychedelic vest from Urban Outfitters and it is just one of the trendy tie-dye finds they have right now.

I don’t even know if these are still trendy but I will forever be a Birkenstock fan. My first pair lasted me years, including a very hot summer of walking on cobblestones in Italy. These metallic, thin strap sandals are super cute and easy to match with any summer outfit.

I originally hated the idea of using a bum bag… I think it was because it caused nauseating flashbacks of my dad on family vacations, with his high white socks, New Balance shoes and velcro bumbag. But, after some deliberation, I decided to try it out and I never want to return to purses. They’re so handy to have on nights out and you don’t have to deal with the annoying strap rubbing on your neck/shoulder. Plus, there are so many chic options right now like this ruched one from ASOS. – Shayna Sappington, Branded Content & Staff Writer, IMAGE Magazine
