Satin, sequins, and cerise: Ciara O’Doherty shares her favourite festive outfits

A TV presenter, fashion writer, and stylist, Ciara O'Doherty has an eye for putting an outfit together. Here she shares some of her favourite looks to help you get in the spirit of things this festive season.

We’ve been thinking, dreaming and writing about Christmas for what feels like months already, but December is finally upon us once again which means that the merriment can officially begin.

No festive fragrance will be left unsprayed, no glitter eyeshadow will be left unused and no fabulously over-the-top outfit will be left unworn… ’tis the season to really lean into the glamour of things and you can bet we’ll be embracing that in absolutely all we do.

Not alone in our hankering to break out the sequins and step into Christmas, content creator Ciara O’Doherty confirms that she very much shares our love for the season. She has quite a few outfit ideas to boot too and we asked her to share her favourites with us below.

Ciara’s top Christmas picks

For a burst of vibrant colour, Aoife McNamara’s Teal Dazzling Waters trousers with her Glistening Ocean corset would be sure to get you in the party mood.

Sadly, the Glistening Ocean corset is sold out but the Your Skies version is still available and is equally as beautiful!

For a vampy party look to turn heads, I would go for the Vivienne Dress from Irish designer Eamonn McGill’s Studio Noir collection, or the Eden Jumpsuit when I really want to bring the sass!

And because no party wear edit is complete without a few sequins, this Sisters by Caroline Kilkenny Laura Sequinned Mini Dress is perfect for dancing the night away in!

As for accessories, Aisling Kavanagh’s newest accessory drop is what partywear dreams are made of. Think gigantic hair bows, satin purses, and embellishments galore – I can’t get enough.

Aside from regularly showcasing her favourite fashion finds over on her own Instagram, Ciara is busy spotlighting small Irish businesses with Meta on their #DeserveToBeFound campaign. A great way to support local designers and creators this festive season, people all across the country are encouraged to get involved by tagging their favourite Irish business online using the “Support Small Business” sticker on Instagram and the #DeserveToBeFound hashtag.
