Robin Te McGonigle: A week in my wardrobe

Robin Te McGonigle: A week in my wardrobe

29th May 2025

Originally from Co. Clare, Robin Te McGonigle is the Creative Director of CMR, a fashion creative agency based in Seoul, South Korea. Inspired by the captivating street style of her adopted city, Te McGonigle’s aesthetic is effortlessly cool and edgy with a touch of elegance. Here, she shares a week in outfits, from client meetings to evening events and laid-back Saturdays.

MONDAY

Mondays are for getting organised, resetting and laying the groundwork for the week ahead. I usually don’t have any events or meetings, so it’s my day to catch up on emails, plan content and get into a focused headspace. I like to start the week with a slightly more corporate vibe because it helps me mentally shift into work mode. Today’s outfit was super simple and functional: grey tailored pants, a navy striped shirt and a large structured shoulder bag that fits everything I need for the day. The shirt is an old Topshop purchase from when I worked there on the visual merchandising and creative team. I’ve had it in my wardrobe for years.

TUESDAY

Today, I recreated one of Rihanna’s recent NYC lunchtime looks, featuring my Fendi sheepskin baguette bread pouch. It’s such a fun statement bag, surprisingly comfy and functional too! I’m wearing a Brandy Melville shirt (they’ve finally gotten more generous with sizing, I could never fit into anything there before), old Monki jeans I picked up in London years ago, a New Era hat and vintage snakeskin boots. Lately, my husband and I have been into clear lens glasses, even though we both have good eyesight. They add a subtle, stylish touch to any look. These are from the Korean brand 2000 Archives. Today, I had a lunch meeting and spent most of the day in the office, but this was me heading out for dinner. I tried Brazilian barbecue for the first time, sensational. And if you ever get the chance, try the Brazilian fizzy drink Guaraná – it’s so good.

WEDNESDAY

I spent the morning filming content for my own Instagram, then headed to Seongsu, one of Seoul’s trendiest neighbourhoods with some of the best cafes. I stopped by Seoul Forest for a little walk to enjoy the weather; it was a perfect 25°C today. Of course, I had to satisfy a matcha craving, which you can find filmed on my On The Hunt Instagram Reels series. I then headed into the office to do some work. My outfit details today are a thrifted cream satin crop top and Poster Girl turquoise leggings layered under camo boxing shorts from 2000 Archives and my shoes are a Kostadinov x Asics collab. The bag is from Hieta, another amazing Korean brand I’ve been loving lately.

THURSDAY

I had an early start today as I was off to a client’s space to shoot some content, so I rewarded myself with a smoothie afterwards. It was warm in Seoul, and I was honestly rushing out the door this morning, so comfort was the only priority. I threw on a soft Brandy Melville top and a stretchy skirt from Jaeshin, a lovely brand run by a friend of mine. I’ve really been leaning into clothes that feel good on the body lately – soft, flexible, and unfussy. One of the highlights of my day was when I ran into a sweet follower and her boyfriend at Glass Tears (my go-to smoothie spot). They were visiting from Germany and came because they’d seen my reel about the place. It’s always magical and rewarding when something I post ends up becoming part of someone else’s trip.

FRIDAY

Today was one of those full, fun, social Fridays that make the week feel worth it. We kicked things off early with a 9am coffee meeting with one of our CMR talents, then squeezed in a quick gym session with my husband before lunch. I love days that mix productivity and movement, it keeps the energy flowing. After work, I popped home for a quick outfit change and headed out again for their first anniversary celebration of 032c in Seoul, followed by an invite to the pre-opening of TirTir’s new flagship store in Seongsu. TirTir is such a standout in the K-beauty world. Their cushion foundation is legendary, and the event was beautifully done. We wrapped the night in the best way: tucked up on the sofa, eating ice cream and watching our favourite Korean TV show together. Again, I’m wearing K-fashion brands. On top, I have this halter from 2000 Archives, and my jeans are by FER FABRIQUÉ.

SATURDAY

I’m heading to Guam next week, so today was all about prepping and ticking off little to-dos before the trip. My husband and I started the morning slowly with coffee and a bit of breakfast together before parting ways. I had an 11am nail appointment (nearly dozed off mid-manicure as there’s something I find so deeply relaxing about getting my nails done). I used a quick 30-minute window to FaceTime my sister in Australia, which always feels grounding. We miss each other a lot. At 1pm, I had a haircut booked with my usual stylist, just a wash, cut and blowdry to freshen it up before travelling. Afterwards, I popped into Bo Market to pick up a little gift for my mother-in-law, then met a friend and her 6-month-old baby for a catch-up over lunch and coffee. The heat today was intense, so dinner was an easy choice: cold noodles and dumplings, exactly what I was craving. My outfit was quite chill today, a very boxy fit in a Paria Farzaneh green vest, wide leg Fendi trousers and a cap from 6 Crayon.

SUNDAY

We let ourselves sleep in today, no alarms, just a slow, easy morning that started at noon. The apartment was in serious need of a tidy, so we spent a couple of hours blitzing through laundry, cleaning and getting everything in order. There’s something so satisfying about starting the new week with a clean, fresh space. Eventually, hunger got the best of us, and we ran out in cosy clothes to our local bagel spot. We got there around 3pm and grabbed the last sandwich in the shop and split it with a coffee to tide us over until we could find a proper lunch somewhere else. The rest of the afternoon was quiet and calm. I ordered some last-minute holiday bits like a snorkel and fins. We’ve been taking freediving lessons, so I’m hoping to go diving and see some beautiful marine life in Guam. Sunday evenings are always a gentle reset for me. I like to sit down, do a face mask and sketch out a rough schedule for the week, or at least get a sense of what Monday looks like. I love these sweatpants. They are so comfortable with cute details and are from a friend’s Seoul-based brand, Insane Garage.

Thanks so much for following along with my week and what I wore. It’s been so nice getting to share a little slice of my life. I’d love to connect with some of you lovely readers over on Instagram (@robintem), it’s always so special to feel connected to Ireland in this way, even while living abroad.
