Light, flowy trousers for in-between summer days

Light, flowy trousers for in-between summer days

Not quite shorts weather but too warm for jeans? Enter these easy-breezy trouser styles.

There’s ‘summer dressing’, and then there’s ‘Irish summer dressing’. I always find myself drooling over gorgeous summer collections, only to have to remind myself that I’ll probably be able to count the number of days where I will actually be able to wear a short, strappy dress on one hand.

It’s not to say that we don’t get lovely summer days here, but our warm-weather wardrobes do have to be a bit more adaptable than they might elsewhere.

Rejina Pyo Andi Floral trousers, reduced to €250, Liberty

I’ve recently found myself turning to lightweight trousers in wide styles, perfect for warm, but not scorching weather. They can be paired with vests and blouses for days when the sun is poking through, but look equally great paired with a cardigan.

And while I usually pair mine with trainers, a low-heeled sandal will transform them into something much more elevated. Equally, you can embrace summer with a bold print or go laid-back with neutral shades, it’s entirely up to you. This extremely versatile item is guaranteed not to languish at the back of your wardrobe.
