Victoria Beckham is, in the words of our fashion editor, a fashion thoroughbred. From full blown WAG a decade ago, to revered designer in 2016; this is a woman that has shed her Spice Girls skin and become completely at ease with herself and her signature style, and it shows in her collections – endlessly coveted?by women around the world.
Adding another string to her fashion bow, Beckham has announced that she will be creating a brand new collection with US megabrand Target. It will include’more than 200 items for women and kids, marking the designer’s first foray into designing childrenswear. It reportedly will reflect the essence of her general line with easy-to-wear dresses, and a range of tops and bottoms for women, and corresponding styles for girls, toddler, and baby.
Designing a range for children was a new challenge for Beckham, who said she took inspiration from dressing her own children through the years. “Being a mother has helped me understand what’s important when it comes to the category. I have had years of learning that function is often just as important as form and that children need to be able to feel comfortable and free in what they wear. For me it was really all about finding a balance between the fun elements and the real-life functionality of a garment,” she explained.
The good news is that items from Target can be shipped to Ireland and that much of the range will be budget-friendly, with prices ranging from roughly €8 to up to €70 (when converted from dollars).
The collection will be available April 9th through April 30th, 2017 on Target.com.?
