Throwback Thursday: It’s 1997 At Home With John And Simone Rocha

With London Fashion Week kicking off tomorrow, we thought it was the perfect time to pay homage to the wonder that is The Rocha Family – John, Odette, Max, Simone and Zöe (an IMAGE Magazine contributing writer) … the LFW show we are most excited about, hands down,  is Simone’s this Saturday at noon (watch our Facebook Live coverage). Simone launched her design career almost ten years ago, following in her dad’s footsteps and has become a force completely unto herself in the fashion world. Simone’s collections are utterly unique and her style encapsulates perfectly what we imagine the modern woman to be – strong but feminine.

Without further ado, this week’s Throwback is to a spread featured in IMAGE Interiors in Autumn 1997 when Image Interiors visited the home of John and Odette Rocha to speak to John about the inspiration for his first Waterford Crystal collection, which became an iconic feature of many a table setting. The Rocha home was well ahead of the times design-wise and gives us a glimpse into the origins of a future design powerhouse; Simone can be seen as a pre-teen enjoying family life with her parents and brother. While we focused on John’s achievements, who could have known that Simone would go on to conquer the design world in her own right?

Congratulations, Simone and good luck with the show, from all of us at IMAGE!
