For the first time in a long time, it doesn’t feel as though we’re trudging through the depths of winter; it feels like spring, in springtime. Imagine that? With the weather lifting our spirits and putting a pep in our step, our attention naturally turns to our wardrobes. Loafers are a great transitional shoe for this particularly tricky time of year when it rains one minute and is 17 degrees the next. It’s not quite bare-toes sandal season (we’re hopeful it will be soon), but these grown-up and sophisticated shoes offer a comfortable and practical approach to your trans-seasonal shoe-drobe. Call it the Gucci effect (again), but a chic pair of flattering loafers will be your wardrobe rescue-remedy for SS18. Style yours with frayed denim and cropped trousers or a suitable spring tea-dress when the sun does make an appearance. These are our favourite (tried and tested) pairs on the internet and high-street right now. What are you waiting for? It’s time to put a (flat) pep in your step.

While you’re here, have you listened to our new podcast The Spill? This week’s episode kicks off with an examination of Janelle Monaé’s PYNK, which features Janelle and her fellow dancers in opulent pink vagina trousers. Sophie and Rhona go on to discuss if people are treated differently because of their level of beauty and finish by helping a reader who can’t stop fantasising about women.
