Surviving Cyber Monday

Surviving Cyber Monday

We’re a bit jealous of our sisters stateside who get to lounge around and fill themselves with Turkey this Thursday. And though we might be delighted we don’t have to brave the absolutely mental crowds of Black Friday, we are more than happy to hop onboard the idea of Cyber Monday.

Cyber Monday is the beautiful day that comes at the start of every December that several e-tailers announce massive sales for. Think Stephen’s day minus the ferocious crowds and slight hangover, where everyone’s allowed wear their pajamas to go shopping. Plus, it falls right next to payday, which is both great and a bit dangerous. Here’s how to not end up panic buying another six LBDs and get the items you really need this chilly season.

Always ask yourself the all-important question; ?will I ever (really) wear these?? I know 40% off those flatforms seems like a once in a lifetime deal, but they might end up just living on your shelf, and that simply isn’t worth it no matter what the price.

Make sure your details are correct. Nothing would be more sad than you spending hours carefully picking out a new Hermes handbag only to realise that you gave your (no-one’s ever home) home address instead your office address, or a loved one’s business who hopefully won’t mind.

Know who’s in on Cyber Monday. Rumour has it that neither Net-a-Porter or Topshop are due to put on any extra sales. However, plenty of other retailers like ASOS and Karen Millen are making up for their lack of appearance.

Don’t forget to spread the cheer. See a gorgeous skirt that you don’t technically need? Why not buy it as an early Christmas treat for your best friend?

Use your save to cart button. The great thing about online shopping is that you can flee from shop to shop at just the click of a mouse, meaning you can find the most beautiful/best value for item you’ve been seeking without buying the wrong thing.

And finally, our picks?
