Summer Gets Snazzy at Penneys

Summer Gets Snazzy at Penneys

Last week we had the pleasure of popping along to Penneys, along with Dublin’s most stylish folk, to celebrate the launch of their new summer collection. Top blogger talent Leanne Woodfull from Thunder and Threads, Louise O?Reilly from Style Me Curvy and Nuala Gorham from Penny and Polaroids perused the rails of tropical summer styles while bopping along to the sounds of top music maker DJ Gill. All in attendance enjoyed Penneys Passion Fruit Punch made by up and coming cocktail making duo Ryan and Horan.

Fashion forces Grace Moore, Courtney Smith and Colm Corrigan made ample use of the vintage campervan photobooth, capturing the laid back feel reflected in the summer collection. Guests enjoyed popping candy ice creams, buttermilk chicken sliders and homemade lemonades courtesy of Gather and Gather catering, surrounded by pineapple flower arrangements, palm trees and sand displays, beautifully curated by Chalk Creative Agency.

Summer at Primark is two different sides to one very stylish coin. Taking inspiration from a glamorous bohemian traveller, the?Desert Dreamer story makes a distinctive nod to 70’s sophistication. Rich in pattern and texture, the collection mixes sheers, lace, fluid fabrications and crinkled crepes to give a feminine and romantic feel.

Flipping summer on its head, the?Ibiza Surf story is all about hitting the beach. Bold colour in graphic and tie dye prints on bikinis and cover ups, ombre effects on swimsuits and cheeky slogans and classic characters on tees give the look a fun frivolous feel. Footwear with over the top platforms in tropical prints show that flip flops aren’t the only shoe that’s shaking on the sand this summer, while cute and colourful friendship bracelets and mix and match rings add the final touch of seaside nostalgia.

Product is available in stores from April.
