Pamela Anderson Is The Star Of Vivienne Westwood’s SS17 Campaign

Icon Pamela Anderson makes her third appearance for Vivienne Westwood as the star of?Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood‘s SS17?campaign, shot by legendary?photographer Juergen Teller…once again proving?that the older we get, the more fierce we become.

The campaign was shot in a Mediterrainina style setup (in Italy – one of Kronthaler’s favourite destinations) and the’result is a quirky mixture of a matured Alice in Wonderland meets?Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Titled ‘Europa’ the collection pays homage to the people and the place. Using his aesthetic, Kronthaler created the collection to express the similarities between the distant countries in Europe; creating one?united land.

“love everything around this big sea, says Kronthaler. “There is a similarity if you are in Italy or Greece, Spain or France- suddenly you are in front of this fantastic blue and time changes and your attitude to life changes and the way you look changes. It makes people look so lovely and healthy. It’s this Mediterranean way of life I adore and am inspired by”.

The pieces are slightly rustic with bursts of modern cuts and unexpected colour – the true Westwood way.

Speaking to Dazed this week, Anderson recalled how the opportunity came about, and how she was undeniably the perfect missing link in the Kronthaler and Westwood story.

?I love the spontaneity. I was in London. Andreas asked me to come to Greece with them.?I have learned from Vivienne that each day is an opportunity,? she continues.??That I cannot be silent. I must be specific and work very hard every day to engage in the world. As a reader and art lover ??and activist.?
