If you liked Spanx leggings then you will love the Spanx activewear collection

If you liked Spanx leggings then you will love the Spanx activewear collection

Spanx – the brand famous for its shapewear and leggings – has launched an activewear collection. Here is why you will love it

Who here reading this doesn’t love the infamous Spanx leather-look leggings?

If I was to take a wild guess, I would say very few of you. The blinding popularity of those leggings has almost overshadowed the power of the brand’s shapewear. Yes, lest we forget, Spanx was producing big knickers long before we conned the system and began buying full coverage underwear a size smaller in Penney’s.

Now our love affair with Spanx looks set to continue as the brand has branched out into the world of activewear.

Booty boost

The collection of leggings, sports bras and tops promise to fuse form and function. Exercise is a messy game filled with blood, sweat and tears at times, which is why there is a firm focus on moisture-wicking and breathable materials.

Spanx wouldn’t be Spanx without holding you in and hoisting you up and, apparently, your body can defy gravity in some of these leggings.

The Booty Boost Active Collection does exactly what it says on the tin. Designed with rear-firming performance fabric and a contoured waistband, the Spanx engineers want your bum to look its best even without squats.

The Every Wear collection features hidden Printed Power technology that targets abdomens with added features like four-way stretch, breathability and an anti-odour finish.

Honestly, it sounds like the clothes can do all of the work for us. We may never have to visit the gym again.

The sports bras on offer are available in different styles to suit either low impact or medium intensity workouts. There is a whisper of sex appeal to the sports bras that brings a welcome change and a fresh feel.

Just because functionality is at the fore of the collections, doesn’t mean style is forgotten about. The pieces are aesthetically pleasing with patterns, mesh, gloss and side stripe detailing creating key standout designs. However, those who love plain and simple are also catered for with black and block colour options available.

In terms of prices, Spanx doesn’t come cheap with the price for a sports bra starting at €68 and leggings coming in at over €100.

Yet the quality is superb, and if the original Spanx leggings are anything to go by, we are going to love every single piece.

Spanx activewear is now available online from Brown Thomas and Arnotts
