After falling for her 1970s look at NYFW, we try to emulate the modern style icon that is Olivia Palermo

Olivia Palermo’s status as the ultimate millennial’style icon is unquestionable. She rarely gets it wrong, while always pushing the sartorial envelope. How many people can get away with wearing a jumper to their wedding? Yesterday we fell for the Creme de la Mer ambassador yet again as she stalked the streets of Manhattan for New York Fashion Week.

Her 1970s look was Cold War cool, and a Marks & Spencer suede Autograph skirt ahead of its arrival in shops this May. Burberry and Gucci have been heralding the return of the 1970s the past few seasons, but it really takes trend giants Olivia Palermo and Marks & Spencer to hit the point home. Get ready to channel you inner Jane Fonda and Faye Dunaway, the 1970s is happening.

The skirt will retail at €270. We’ve done some shopping maths and if you sacrifice your morning coffee habit for two months and a half you’ll be well able to afford this gorgeous suede number.

Take a scroll through our gallery above to see how you can emulate Olivia and shop the look below.
