The Best Mid-Season Sale Buys

The Best Mid-Season Sale Buys

Mid-season sales always feel like an unexpected bonus. They’re a great opportunity to pick up both closet staples and spring/summer basics. Here are my top picks.

This camel coat doesn’t scream new season, but it’s a fantastic buy at just €149 and will see you through this year and next. The fluted sleeves, single button detail and oversized cut are incredibly chic and the biscuit colour has warmth and depth to it, perfect for Irish skin tones. It’s a shade that also works really well with pastels and brights as much as?neutrals.

Oversized camel coat, €149 (reduced from €249) at Massimo Dutti

The foil star detailing on this Mint Velvet sweater elevates it from basic to beautiful. The simple but impactful motif adds character to what might otherwise be a generic item. It has a relaxed fit so is easy to layer depending on the weather.

Foil print star knit, €79 (reduced from €95) at Mint Velvet

Wearing something with frills is a?key way of’signalling that you’re SS17-savvy. This Zara cardigan subtly nods to the trend, with it’s neat frill trim. I love the shade of coral too as it’s seasonless. Wear it with navy and camel in winter, and with white in high summer.

Cardigan with frills, €9.95 (reduced from €19.95) at Zara

This simple black dress with cut-out detailing is a classic piece for any woman’s wardrobe. And again, it will work throughout the seasons if you style it up. As a stand-alone piece, though, it’s beautiful and needs little accessorising.

Cut-out embroidery dress, €63 (reduced from €125) at & Other Stories

At just €25, this cold-shoulder dress is a steal. I’d lose the belt and give it a more relaxed, fluid look, then pair it with white trainers.

Strappy Bardot dress, €25 (reduced from €60) at Warehouse

This Whistles dress is a great workwear option, with brogues or heels. It looks understated but very chic. The gathered detail at the front also creates a?beautifully feminine silhouette.

Pinstriped jersey dress, €65 (reduced from €125) at Whistles

This jumpsuit from H&M is quite a flamboyant piece, but at €14.99 you might as well indulge. To dress this down, simply throw a T-shirt over it and pair it with flats.

Strapless jumpsuit, Conscious, €14.99 (reduced from €29.99) at H&M
