WATCH: A Hairstylist Burn And Cut Hair With Swords

Remember while back we were telling you about this insane new hair trend in Brazil called?Velaterapia, or candle cutting? It’s a’slighty scary sounding hair treatment where sections of your hair are separated, twisted and then run through an open candle flame. With celebrity fans like Gisele Bundchen, the theory behind it is that it the open flame removes and reduces split ends while also giving you a more natural finish to the cut.

Hosting @alicialquarles for @enews and explaining the process of #velaterapia which cuts off the split ends by using an open flame without taking any of the length off.

You’re probably looking at that thinking, “God that’s mental but doesn’t look too bad and Gisele’s always a babe… I might be able to do it following a few G&T’s so long as the candle holder can’t have any”.

Well now there’s guy in Spain who is pairing the lunatic trend with his own version of Edward Scissorhands. We kid you not. And he’s not using any old candles to burn your split ends, no no no. He’s using a BLOWTORCH to tidy your hair up. Never thought we’d write that sentence before.

Be warned, anyone who is even slightly precious about their hair ought to be prepared for the terror they’re about to see…

Is that not the most terrifying thing you’ve ever seen?! Can you imagine the smell of burnt hair in that place?

The man behind the knife-wielding is Madrid-based hairstylist Alberto Olmedo. He said he disliked how hairdressers cut one side of the hair and then the other resulting in an even style. His solution? That he’d chop it off with detachable Wolverine claws and two Samurai swords. He says it’s “mathematical”, we say it’s straight-up bonkers.

We think we’ll stick to the ‘traditional’ hair cutting methods but he can dice the onions instead, he looks he’d be good at that.
