Valentine’s Day Make-Up Guide

07th Feb 2015

Whether you have a popcorn date with your gal pals and the sexiest man alive or plan to snuggle with your honey, it matters not: thanks to the wonders of cosmetics, we can all get the look of love this Valentine’s Day.

Kissable lips is a misleading term (got lips? Then they’re kissable! Hooray!) but it helps to keep them soft, smooth and flake-free; easier said than done, in this weather, but a Lush lip scrub should help – we’re fans of Mint Julips. Follow with something kinda natural, with a little bit of shine; pout perfection is guaranteed with any of these award winning lippys on our list.

Keep skin well-hydrated to get that loved-up glow; we showed you how in this post on protecting winter skin. Then get cheeky with a rosy cream blush, for a natural flush that’s much more convincing than powder. Le Blush Cr’me de Chanel is silky soft and beautiful to blend; shop it here.

Or keep things simple with NARS The Multiple in Orgasm (c’mon, we had to include it here!). This shimmery all-in-one makeup stick is a pretty peachy pink shade, to subtly enhance eyes, cheeks and lips. Shop it here.

Bat lashes that are loaded with Benefit’s latest mascara offering, Roller Lash; this stuff is seriously good. It lengthens, curls and lifts lashes for up to 12 hours – and has a pro-vitamin B5 lash conditioning formula, to boot. Concentrate on the top lashes for that fluttery, wide-eyed look.

And the best Valentine’s Day hair? Bed-head, of course?whether it’s the real deal or artfully tousled is entirely up to you. If you need help with the latter, try Ocean Spray by Sachajuan, a cult hair salon in Stockholm, for beachy body and movement. You’ll find it here.

A spritz or two of YSL’s Black Opium – a sexy, sweet scent with notes of vanilla, pink pepper and patchouli – and you’re ready to rock. Valentine’s Day 2015, let’s be having you.
