Scentsational fragrances that capture summer

Scentsational fragrances that capture summer

Looking for a scent to lift your spirits for late summer? These five fragrances are the perfect accompaniment to a last-minute holiday (or just a great way to keep that summery feeling as the weather turns cooler).

The fruity one

ARMANI PRIVÉ ORANGERIE VENISE, €156 for 100ml
Master perfumer Dominique Ropion (creator of Portrait of a Lady, Flowerbomb and many more scents adored around the world) has blended another sure-to-be bestseller. His brief was “Venetian orangerie” and that’s the best description you’ll find. Neroli perfection, sparkling bergamot, and woody drydown.

The vanilla one

JOY BY DIOR EAU DE PARFUM INTENSE, €134 for 100ml
Creamy florals and vanilla meet a burst of citrus and sandalwood that dries to a light, woody musk. Joie de vivre in a bottle.

The musky one

GABRIELLE CHANEL ESSENCE, €139 for 100ml
Recognisably the same elegant, modern blend of Gabrielle, but with added sharp red berries, musk, vanilla and sandalwood.

The floral one

ISSEY MIYAKE L’EAU D’ISSEY ROSE & ROSE, €93 for 90ml
Pink peppercorn and sweet raspberry and pear open to two roses – Centifolia and Bulgaria – drying to a woody, silky amber and patchouli.

The one with a bit of everything

ATELIER COLOGNE PERFUME WARDROBE, €55
A little bit of the best of everything from Atelier Cologne, the ten-year-old indie perfume line snapped up by L’Ore?al Luxe. Current favourite: Bois Blonds.
