Make-up artist Erin Parsons has the simplest hack for a defined cut crease

If you aren’t following make-up artist Erin Parsons on Instagram, I hereby grant you permission to momentarily stop reading this and go and follow her, but you have to come back because you’re going to really want to hear this tip.

See? She is the creator of some of the best make-up on Instagram. Did you see the rainbow jewels she created at Schiaparelli’s SS20 show? Or the quilted lips?

In between working backstage, creating incredible make-up art on Instagram and inventing those spikey white lashes for Gigi Hadid at the Met Gala, Erin Parsons is also Maybelline’s global make-up artist.

Over on Maybelline’s YouTube channel, Erin has created an under ten minute ’90s supermodel make-up tutorial on model Emily DiDonato that is ostensibly for Hallowe’en but is actually about to become our new everyday make-up routine. This tutorial is where she dispended the cut crease make-up hack of make-up hacks.

She says she learned the tip from Kevyn Aucoin’s book and has seen the look on Naomi Campbell. First, use a fluffy brush and blend your dark shadow in the crease, Erin is using a dark smoky brown, because of the aforementioned ’90s supermodel look.

Are you ready for the cut crease tip that will change your life?

Erin takes a q-tip with make-up remover and wipes it across the lid to create a clean, sharp edge. It is so painfully simple that I am furious to have never thought of it before.

Would you look at that final result? Is this not the most ’90s thing you’ve ever seen?
