Christmas Nail Trends: Accent Nails

If you’re not one for going all out at Christmas with a Santa jumper and matching reindeer ears, why not add a little touch to your party outfit with some festive fingertips?

Try an accent nail on just one finger – the ring finger is best – to add a little holiday flare. If you don’t think you can recreate the look yourself, bring this snap along to your next nail appointment where a professional can’make your festive nail dreams a reality.

Here’s a step by step from Gelish to guide you to this perfect snowflake look!

STEP ONE

After completing your nail prep, apply a thin coat of sparkly gold, (like this Gelish colour Just Naughty Enough) to the entire nail, making sure to cap the free edge. Cure for 30 seconds in your LED light and repeat from full coverage.

STEP TWO

Create a heart-shaped French using a festive red. The colour pictured is Gelish’s?Who Nose Rudolph. Cure for 30 seconds and repeat for full coverage.

STEP THREE

Using a mini striper brush and a bright white, (this one is?Arctic Freeze),?begin creating a snowflake by drawing an X in the middle of the heart.

STEP FOUR

With the mini striper brush and Arctic Freeze, draw two mini diamonds in between the X.

STEP FIVE

Repeat step four.

STEP SIX

Using the mini striper brush, draw a v-shaped design to the end of the X that was created in step three.

STEP SEVEN

Using a dotting tool and Arctic Freeze,?add a dot above and below the snowflake. Add Top It Off??topcoat to the entire nail and cure for 30 seconds.
