Christian Louboutin Launches Lipstick Collection

Red Sole Pioneer Christian Louboutin launched a nail varnish collection last year, and this year he’s leaning into lipsticks. The shoe designer is set to unleash 36 lip colours on the awaiting beauty world, with Rouge Louboutin tying in with his famous red sole. It’d be rude not to indulge?

Last year’s nail varnish colour was a huge success, with certain shades gaining a cult-like status. See Rouge Louboutin, of course. Scarab?e 1, a pink gold nude is sold out on the website. Another aspect of Louboutin’s foray into beauty was the design. The nail varnish bottles evoked his trademark stiletto heel and were a hit with bloggers, industry insiders and the average woman who likes to spend a small fortune on nail varnish.

This time round the lipsticks won’t double up as handbag-sized weapons, although the rounded gold design do work a bullet vibe.

Other colours catching our pay cheque eyes in the premiere collection include You You, a dusky plum, and the hot pink Bengali. Also, there are three textures of lipstick on offer – a Silky Satin, Velvet Matte and Sheer Voile – which is pretty extensive for a first collection.

So far, this entire collection suggests a lot of thought and consideration for its potential customers. As Louboutin said in a statement, ?An object that embellishes the lips?the beacon of sensuality and organ of communication?has to be fairly amazing. The object should inspire a beautiful gesture.?

The one drawback? The price is a little bit high. On lipstick will set you back just over €80. The collection lands online September 1st. Are you interested?
