Charlotte Tilbury’s new collection is a tribute to 90s supermodels

Before Charlotte Tilbury was a household name behind a billionaire dollar brand, she made her name hand-mixing products backstage at fashion shows and behind the scenes on magazine shoots for the Supers, creating the foundations for the products that sell out today. Now, she’s making a cheat for the beauty trend we’re most grateful to the Supers for sending our way – the nude lip – with the Charlotte Tilbury Super Nude collection.

“Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford truly understood the power of neutral nudes and tone-on-tone colour layering to play up their features and enhance their natural beauty,” says Charlotte Tilbury. “They used magic mattes and tonal taupes to mimic the effects of nature and become super gorgeous versions of themselves. It’s not only an icon of the 90s; nude is a beauty-boosting palette of tones that I used to mix by hand, blending concealers with pink lipsticks and hints of brown to create the perfect, nuanced shades to mimic the natural colouring of the lips. My new Super Nudes are backstage classics that I created for myself! I have combined super forgiving, next-generation formulas with perfect tones that mimic nature and play with light and shade. I think of them as the ‘little black dresses’ of make-up.”

The collection includes two palettes; first up, the Super Nude Easy Eye Palette, €54, an everyday palette of perfection with taupe to brown nude essentials that suit all and make smokey eyes a doddle. The sell-out limited-edition Glowgasm Palette is back, this time in Nudegasm, €75, for supermodel bronze, glow and highlighter in one palette. There’s an incredibly clever, super blendable eyeliner duo, with a black brown on one end and brightening nude on the other for bigger, brighter eyes.

And finally, the nudes. “These are the nudes everyone needs in their makeup bag,” says Charlotte Tilbury. “I studied natural lip pigments in all skin tones to create the ultimate 90s inspired neutral nude lipstick shades and expertly blended lip undertones with the perfect balance of pigments to neutralise to create easy-to-wear, universally flattering colours that enhance your natural beauty and don’t wash you out.
