Can we talk about… the Bobbi Brown x Lulu Guinness Pretty Powerful collection

Can we talk about… the Bobbi Brown x Lulu Guinness Pretty Powerful collection

A no-faff, unbelievably flattering lip crayon, one of the greatest mascaras ever made and the best make-up bag I’ve ever seen, with a charitable donation to boot.

If a nude lip is an everyday essential for you, I have found a true hero. In what is already my favourite collaboration of the year, Bobbi Brown has joined up with Lulu Guinness for the Bobbi Brown x Lulu Guinness Pretty Powerful collection to bring us two bestselling products beautifully packaged in lip print heaven.

First up in the set in is the Art Stick lip crayon in the colour Bare, the perfect shade of dusky pink nude. As you might imagine, crayons are as easy as it gets when it comes to make-up. Just pathetically simple to use. I could apply this chunky crayon without a mirror, in the dark, with my eyes closed, on the bumpiest of trains and still not mess it up. Simply draw it around the line of your lips and roughly colour in the rest of your lips. Apply it and forget about it, because it won’t budge for the rest of the day. The formula is divinely creamy and hydrating on the lips and the pigment is soft, subtle but unbelievably flattering, whether worn with a smokey eye or on clean skin with lashings of mascara. You also get a chunky pencil sharpener for your new go-to nude.

Next up in the kit is the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara. Not only does this cover the very basics of mascara by darkening, lengthening and adding volume, but the formula is also delightfully thick, a true black, and emphasizes each individual lash.

Thirdly, the easy-to-clean black leather make-up bag is as Lulu Guinness as it gets – joyous muti-coloured lip prints galore, including on the zip and a see-through plastic lip-print right in the middle of the bag, so you can take it out of your handbag before you run out the door and give it a shake to check that you haven’t forgotten to put your favourite eyeliner into it.

And I haven’t even come to the best bit yet, which is that this can all be yours for just €45, and Bobbi Brown is donating 100% of that cost to Dress For Success Dublin, a charity set up by designer Sonya Lennon that offers styling advice, professional clothing, mentoring programmes and career development tools to women entering the workforce. So not only do you get the best nude lip product to land on the beauty desk in a long time, a bestselling mascara and a designer make-up bag, you get to make a donation that helps women in Ireland.

The Bobbi Brown x Lulu Guinness Pretty Powerful collection, €45, is available online and instore at Arnotts and Brown Thomas.
