Getting a fringe is a big commitment. A decision we ask friends about. Twitter is solicited. Are you there God? Opting for a curtain of hair across one’s face is a milestone. A risk, with tears or endless selfies the potential outcomes. A bob elicits similar reactions and fears. Both are drastic paths to take. Together? You might as well be Napolean attempting to conquer Europe.
However, sometimes this neat combination can work. At Monday night’s GRAMMYs Taylor Swift, pictured above, presented a new pristine cut which got us thinking, maybe the bob with the fringe can be conquered. Here are seven famous women who made it work in their own unique way.
Anna Wintour’s hair style is iconic. It will survive all the apocalypses. It sends a clear message – if this woman can handle the trickiest hairstyle of all, she can deal with every mini-catastrophe that gets in her way.
Karlie Kloss is that contradictory thing, a consistent chameleon. We love her all the time?but have a particular fondness for the fringed bob she worked in?2103 when attending the Cannes film festival.
Emma Stone’s press tour for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 featured a long bob with a heavy fringe. It’s a look we miss, to be honest. The ultimate quirky girl next door.
Rose Byrne’s bob at last year’s Academy Awards was a stunner.
Alexa Chung has made a career out of her hair. The shaggy bob with the fringe you can take or leave.
Katie Holmes’ hair at last year’s Met Gala was a divisive style. Some felt it added years to the actress, others pointed out it was an excellent cut.
Dakota Johnson kept to the Emma Stone playbook last year, with added highlights. She’s back to a longer mane at the moment. Perhaps the new hurr is for Fifty Shades Darker?
