6 Timeless Pieces Of Beauty Advice You’ve (Probably) Never Heard

We all know that to look good, you have to take care of yourself from the inside out. We expect with plenty of sleep, gallons of water and a good lashing of green in our diets that we will suddenly wake up one day and look like Gisele.

But how bloody boring does that sound? Beauty, true beauty, is something that is difficult to put into words. So, instead of suggesting that you exist on a diet of kale shots, here are six nuggets of beauty wisdom that are truly timeless.

1. Don’t Be Bitter

Bitterness lives deep inside a person and slowly hardens all of your nice features. My mother used to always say that bitter, mean people have?thin lips from always having their mouths pursed in disdain. So don’t bother holding onto bitterness, as it doesn’t affect the person that you’re bitter against and it just makes you look ugly.

2. Be French

The French have the right idea when it comes to a lot of things. The Breton stripe, cheese?at every meal?and an effortless allure about them, that stems from an inner confidence.?Plus, of course, glowing skin.?The New York Times wrote about?how French women age?gracefully,?without surgery, by simply using good skin creams. They?apparently spend “$2.2 billion a year on facial skin care – as much as Spanish, German and British women put together.” Take a leaf out of their book by always wearing sunscreen and never having Botox.

3. Honey, Honey

Everyone should have a jar of manuka honey in their cupboards. It does EVERYTHING. It retains moisture so it makes a fab hair mask. Raw?honey is naturally antibacterial so it works wonders as a face mask – actually, you can even bathe in it as those antibacterial properties can help prevent and treat acne as well as leaving your skin super soft and supple.

4. Silk Scarves

Our hair takes’such a?bashing what with straighteners, curlers, dry shampoos and dyes that it can leave you feeling like you have a bail of straw on your head. Your locks truly are your crown and glory so the glossier and healthier-looking, the more confident you will feel.??Style maven that is Jackie Kennedy?always had one simple tip.?Wear a silk scarf over your hair in bed.?Comb?a little?lavender oil through your ends to keep hair hydrated, and voila! Straw-like hair will become a thing of the past.

5. Olive Oil

Another’multi-use natural product is extra virgin olive oil. Used for centuries,?it?is an ingredient?in anti-ageing skin care products as well as being?rich in antioxidants,?helping reduce?the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Plus it is ideal for sensitive skin. You can thank us?later.

6. Simply Does It

Ever heard of the saying, “the simpler you live, the simpler your life will be?” It’s kind of spot on. In every aspect of every day life, don’t over complicate things for yourself. Be it your home/love/work life. Ensure that you’re doing the basics: getting to bed by 10pm a few nights a week, balancing that takeaway and wine with some fruit and veg, and managing your stress levels.?True?beauty is?worshipping your body on a daily basis. It is?a temple, after all.

And if all else fails, just remember;
