4 Serums To Solve Your Autumn/Winter Skin Woes

4 Serums To Solve Your Autumn/Winter Skin Woes

Your skincare?routine should be adapted with the change of each season. It doesn’t mean going for big changes but small switch-ups; a slightly heavier moisturiser or in my case, the correct serum. If a moisturiser nicely sets your base, it’s the serum the does the hard work; penetrating deep into the layers of the skin to help the renewal process. In the September Issue of IMAGE Magazine, Jennifer Rock of The Skin Nerd agrees they are a “skin care game-changer.” So, come?wind, rain or shine, at least one belongs on your shelf. We all have individual concerns we want to tackle be it repair, dryness or anti-age and in the case of AW, an extra boost of hydration is going to be high on all our lists due to our visages not knowing what hit them with all that toing-and-froing from cold to warm. Below we’ve chosen four serums to fight four different concerns (at various price points) that will help ensure your skin says flake-free and ready to battle that winter weather.

To Calm Sensitive or Post-Treatment Skin:

Image Vital C Hydrating Anti-Aging Serum, €63.90

This is the most expensive out of all four serums, but I can’t emphasise?enough what an investment buy it is. I’m on my second bottle of the year – one bottle should last at least six months – and I still can’t believe how much it’s transformed my skin. Infused with?the highest bio-availability of oil-soluble Vitamin C, this helps to instantly soothe environmentally’damaged skin or heals tender skin after a peel or treatment. As well as that, this hydrating serum rejuvenates dull, dry, tired skin and minimises and smooths visible effects of stress and fatigue – it’s full of vitamins A, E and highly potent antioxidants to nourish the skin – after a few weeks of use, your skin will literally glow. It also doesn’t clog any pores or leave a greasy residue.

To Hydrate Dry Skin:

For a moisture hit, you won’t find much better than this.?This hydrating skin serum gives skin an instant plumping boost and instantly brightens dull skin. A perfect one to use during the dark winter months.

To Repair Damage On Mature Skin:

No7 Lift & Luminate TRIPLE ACTION Serum, €38

This serum contains a unique blend of Matrixyl 3000 PLUS TM – a peptide blend which has a powerful effect on repairing damage in aged skin – along with hibiscus extract which helps support collagen production leaving skin smoother and firmer and antioxidants to further protect the skin. If your skin needs a pick-me-up and you want noticeable results almost instantly, you’ll love this.

To Soothe Acne-Prone Skin:

Pixi Overnight Glow Serum, €35

I go back to this one after I have a bad breakout and notice visible improvements to my skin even after two weeks. This contains 10% glycolic acid (used in small amounts, this helps combat?acne and anti-ageing). It’s primarily an anti-inflammatory?and used in small quantities; it does wonders?in terms of reviving the skin. Don’t be put off by the percentage as it works in tandem?with cucumber and aloe vera extracts to calm skin and contains vitamins A, C, and E to nourish.
