3 Ways To Style Your Hair For Summer

?Three quick and easy ways for simple summer makeovers from Kellie Smith at Zeba.

THE LONG CHOP

The chicest haircut of the season, rocked by stylish Parisiennes for generations, is the shaggy, undone, long, choppy, layered haircut. Not to be confused with the classic Rachel worn by Jennifer Aniston many moons ago, this cut has a jagged baseline chopped into and shattered through to prevent that just cut look. The layers are texturised and cut internally to create a lived-in look that’s chic and effortless. The cut is then tailored and softened when the hair is dry to suit the client’s desired style. This cut is quite easy to style, as it’s not meant to look too polished. Chlo? Grace Moretz and Victoria Beckham rock this look. It’s a great way to keep length, but also update and change your look for the summer season.

COLOUR BLOCKING

A-listers are leading this colour revolution, moving away from multi-tonal colours and ombr? effects to all-over, high shine block colours. The look is being championed by models of the moment Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid, as well as music stars such as Taylor Swift, who is totally rocking the block blonde right now. Block colour creates depth in the hair, making it appear fuller to the naked eye. On brunettes and redheads, it creates a high-shine, glass-like finish; and on blondes, it really makes a statement, creating a daring, edgy look. This colour technique is a great way to update your hair without being too drastic.

THE NEW KNOT

With a nod to the 1990s, knotty hair is the way to go. Victoria’s Secret model Candice Swanepoel rocked the knotted?midi bun at this year’s Met Gala and we’ve seen a number of celebs such as Ariana Grande and Khlo? Kardashian sport a chic version of the €90s space bun (remember Bj?rk?). Hollywood star Rooney Mara, wore a triple knot upstyle to this year’s Oscars, and it was a refreshing alternative among a sea of undone updos. This look can be worn to a broad number of events and will be the far cooler alternative to festival braids this summer.
