No matter what the occasion,?a ?nude? palette is a girl’s best friend all year-round. I’m all for bright colours, but when it comes to the eyes, brown, taupe, ivory or chocolate look sophisticated and are the most wearable of colours, day or night (a flick of eyeliner instantly vamps up your look for evening). A nude eye also provides a perfect backdrop for a bright lipstick. And this look is far from dull; you can mix up your look ranging from a simple wash of one colour over the lids to a more careful considered blend of a?pale base or mid-tone eyelid with dark liner and even some shimmer. To create as varied a look as possible, it’s usually best to play around with three or four shades of nudes until you get the desired effect. ?Scroll down three of the best nude eye palettes on the market at the moment.
L?Or?al Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude, €21.99
Cited by many as a near-perfect dupe for the original Naked Palette, this option from L?Or?al is a winner with ten shades that pack a major punch in the pigment department; the shadow stays put all day. And it’s around half the price which is another plus.
Smashbox Full Exposure Palette, €45
This one ticks all the boxes, whether you want an intense smoky eye or just some softer everyday definition, this one has it all. With 14 shades – from shimmery champagne to a range of matte shades you can truly create any neutral eye look you want with this palette. The shimmer shades are especially gorgeous on.
Naked Basics Eyeshadow Palette, €30
The best is saved for last.?Urban Decay’s legendary The Nakeds, spawned our obsession with nudes, and though the first palette remains a favourite, I prefer the newer Naked Basics?range. These take things back to the original?concept, sticking with six essential nudes that offer a number of varied looks in packaging perfect for travel or reapplication for post-work drinks.
