15 summer dresses you can still wear with boots when September comes

Summer isn’t over, summer isn’t over, summer isn’t over. Repeat after me and we might just convince ourselves it’s true.

15 summer dresses you can still wear with boots when September comes

The window to shop for summer clothes is very limited, even more so in Ireland where the sun shines for approximately 12 minutes of the year. Not ones to let the weather stop us, we’ve become particularly good at getting the most out of our purchases to compensate.

Tights are a wardrobe staple as are light jumpers and long sleeves. Outfits can be made more seasonally appropriate by adding or removing layers and we’re masters of using clutch bags as umbrellas. Leaving the house in rain gear may be the practical option, but fashion faux pass on that one.

As the last weekend of August rolls around, the impulse to splash out on frilly summer frocks has never been stronger. Shop smartly and you’ll be able to prolong their wear all the way through autumn though with thanks to a pair of boots (and let’s be honest, probably some thermals too).

Below are some of the best summer dresses that are still available online.
