Instagram is a sea of perfection.

Sometimes the size of it is overwhelming like both the Pacific and the Atlantic oceans have combined. It feels like we can’t get to shore to catch our breath.

Because it’s tiring out there. Trying to swim against the current of filters and Facetune is a fool’s game. And we have all been there, flapping our arms and legs around while our confidence takes another hit and the feel of it is like drowning.

Thankfully, we are seeing more and more accounts that champion body positivity and diversity. We are all different, with wondrous lumps and bumps making us who we are.

It’s time to embrace our bodies and celebrate everything they do – both internal and external.

So stop scrolling through pictures that leave you feeling downtrodden and follow these 10 accounts.

They will make your heart full.

Jessamyn Stanley

Jessamyn is a yoga teacher, author, and body positivity advocate. Her account is a treasure trove of yoga tips and confidence we could only dream of possessing.

Joann Van Den Herik

Joann Van Den Herik is a Dutch model (and cousin of Gigi and Bella Hadid) who is using her platform to help others love their bodies by embracing every single last bit of it – cellulite and all.

Stephanie Yeboah

Stephanie is a British blogger and advocate for body acceptance. Her feed is a joy in both an aesthetic and a personality sense. Her pictures are stunning, while her captions always provide a lesson in loving yourself to take with you.

Chessie King

Chessie King is a shining light of positivity on Instagram. Her tagline is ‘shaking up your perfect feed’ and that is exactly what she does. She’s honest about her struggles with body image and dieting in the past and teaches her followers how to accept themselves and practise ‘body celebration’.

 Chidera Eggerue

Chidera Eggerue is an author and the woman behind the #saggyboobsmatter movement. We have been conditioned by films and the media to think that all boobs are the same size and defy gravity. The truth is they don’t.

Rozanna Purcell

Our very own Roz Purcell has been leading the body positivity movement here in Ireland. The best-selling author has been refreshingly honest and real about the facade social media can create. Her #contentcontent posts are a source of guidance and comfort for many.

Hannah Witton

Hannah Whitton was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at the age of seven and had an ileostomy at the beginning of 2018. She has had a stoma ever since. Through her Instagram page, she brings her followers on her journey and is honest and unafraid when it comes to so many topics.

Ericka Hart

Ericka is a writer, sex educator, activist and breast cancer survivor who explores her body in a candid and expressive manner on her Instagram account. Her openness is invigorating with her posts being both inspirational and educational.

Tess is a fashion and beauty blogger who lives with spinal muscular atrophy type 2 but she doesn’t let that stop her. The makeup looks are fierce, while the style is sensational. We stan.
