This modern Monkstown home is on the market for €2 million

This modern Monkstown home is on the market for €2 million

The home, designed by a Dublin architecture firm, was built in 2014 and is a great example of contemporary style.

Perfect for someone looking for a home that feels a little out of the ordinary, 1A Alma Road is a four-bedroom home that was designed by ODOS Architects.

Not only is its modern aesthetic sleek and clean, it also has an A3 energy rating thanks to solar water-heating panels, a heat recovery system, underfloor heating, and a green roof with a water recovery system.

You enter the home into a hallway with solid oak flooring and a staircase to the first floor. Feature lighting, a light well and a floor to ceiling mirror mean light is diffused around the space, making it feel calm and welcoming.

The four bedrooms are located on the ground floor, two of which are ensuite, and all have built-in storage. Three of them open up to a serene courtyard space, a wonderful link to the outdoors.

On the first floor, the kitchen and living spaces make the most of the natural light the house receives. An external courtyard connects the two rooms, and there is also a sun terrace, providing an outdoor space to enjoy during the warmer months, and a source of light all year round.

The kitchen has wide plank oak flooring, white gloss units, a quartz countertop, and a large island, and there is also a large space for a dining table. Off this space sits a utility room. The double aspect living space is bright throughout the day, and has a clean finish thanks to its white walls.

Outside, to the front of the house is a large gravelled area, providing plenty of off-street parking, while electric gates provide security and privacy.

This home is also well located, close to Monkstown village, as well as the popular swimming spot at Seapoint.
