The interiors equivalent of that classic shirt you wear constantly, stripes play well with almost everything.

If you’re anything like me, you have more than one (or maybe more like four) striped shirts in your wardrobe. To the untrained eye they might appear to be the same, but in reality are so versatile you can’t justify getting rid of any of them. 

Stripes, a classic for a reason, perform the same function in our homes. Something about their combination of pleasing regularity and opportunity to introduce colour makes them appeal to everyone from minimalists to lovers of pattern. 

Whether they’re brightening up a pared-back space, adding some cottagecore whimsy to your bedroom or are just one of many layers of texture and pattern, they’re a great choice for so many homes. Here are some current pieces that have caught our attention.
