Street art, crisps and a Blooming gorgeous Saturday: What's On this weekend

We thought it would last forever. We got too comfortable in the sunshine. But this week, when I felt rain and wind for the first time in weeks, I was brought crashing back down to Irish earth. It's a shame, this weekend falling on Bloomsday after all, but I'm sure you'll find plenty of ways to defy the elements. Have a wonderful weekend from IMAGE!

Friday: Taste of Dublin

Taking place in the Iveagh Gardens all weekend, Taste of Dublin is returning with all the best food, beer, wine and taste experiences the city has to offer. Head to interactive masterclasses and demonstrations, get some grub at the marketplace or just enjoy a day of eating and drinking with mates.

Friday: Grey Area Exhibition at the Odeon Point Village

If you're a fan of the frankly incredible artwork that has been colouring Dublin streets over the past few years, then the launch of the Grey Area Exhibition this weekend is right up your alley. Taking place in the Point Village until the end of the month, the entire centre will be transformed into the vision that Dublin street artists have for the city; in SUBSET's own words "an open-air gallery".

Saturday: Bloomsday

The city's quirkiest, and arguably loveliest, day is here! Bloomsday is on Saturday, but the festivities have been going on all week to celebrate James Joyce's iconic novel. Many of this weekend's events are sold out already, but some stand out activities remain. Head to Dublin Choral Festival with choirs from the U.S and Ireland, in support of the Irish Hospice Foundation, or head to Wolfe Tone Square to hear readings and songs about the day. If none of that suits, you can always partake in my favourite activity; people watching the crowds of Ulysses fans as they make their way around Dublin.

Saturday: Jeff Goldblum's Day at the Lighthouse

If, however, classic Irish literature just isn't your bag, this is an equally pleasing way to spend your time. Every year on Bloomsday, the ever-cool Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield holds their annual Jeff Goldblum's Day - a day, you guessed it, full of Jeff Goldblum films. If the man himself was this happy about it, you know it's got to be good.

All weekend: Crisp Festival

I really don't think I've ever featured anything better than this on What's On. A CRISP FESTIVAL! With a Brennan's sandwich station; a Tayto vs King debate; a Hunky Dory chipper, and Open Gate Brewery Cans. Plus, there is every type of crisp your childhood-self could want - Chikatees, Chipsticks, Snax, Mighty Munch, Johnny Onion Rings, Meanies, Rancheros, Skips, Hot Lips, Burger Bites ,Banshee Bones and oh my god, I'm going to get my keys.
