A Smartphone That Can Survive Being Dropped In Water Is Coming To Market

A Smartphone That Can Survive Being Dropped In Water Is Coming To Market

After nearly a decade of groundbreaking phones, some brain has finally done the obvious and invented a smartphone which is water and dust resistant. This is our civilisation’s wheel. Nothing will ever be the same. Toilet bowl drops won’t be the end of the world, just something gross you have to tackle. Tweeting from a steaming bath is something you can do without worrying, if you really think tweeting from a bath is something you have to do.

Samsung are the tech company responsible for this great leap, with their just-announced Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge claiming to be dust and water resistant. In fact, so strong is these new phones? ability to battle the elements, you can submerge the phone in up to five feet of water for thirty minutes. You probably shouldn’t, but you can.

Besides this amazingness, both phones have 32GB of storage and a processor that’s 64% faster than Samsung’s previous smartphone incarnations. That means your phone’s loading time won’t provoke curse words. There’s also wireless charging, meaning you can use wireless charging pads – inbuilt into some IKEA furniture and available in some very high-tech caf’s.

The Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge will be available to eager customers from early March onwards.
