For such a narrow strip of Dublin street, Coppinger Row is inhabited by an inordinate amount of hipsters and hotties. It's probably thanks to the unholy trinity of cooler-than-thou High Street shop All Saints, the Pygmalion bar and, of course, Coppinger Row restaurant. Once again, brothers Marc and Conor Bereen have demonstrated their not inconsiderable skills in creating a restaurant space where the food is as buzzy as the atmosphere. It's a life not lived until you try the crab and crayfish with basil and lemon here but the meatball open sandwich with parmesan is sensational too. ?Note: the fish specials are always good. CR is a smart choice for either dinner or lunch but they also have an extensive mid-afternoon menu, where a seared tuna Nicoise salad provides the perfect post-shopping hit. Brunch on Sunday is also brilliant. ?
We love It's the little extras that make the difference here, like the Gin and Tonic menu (each with bespoke garnishes), and the cool coffee options (check out the blanco y negro ??a shot of dark espresso with a side scoop of vanilla ice cream).
Star staff Super-friendly service and the constant, satisfied hum of customers underscore the entirely enjoyable experience here.
Top table Outside for the best people-watching of your life.
What to drink The wine list and cocktail menu will impress but the stand-out Coppinger Row beverage is the still or sparkling water, only €1 per bottle with unlimited refills and half the money going to charity.
Who to bring The 30-something new parents who want to feel part of the scene again. And it's buggy friendly.
