Gwen Stefani And Gavin Rossdale File For Divorce

BEVERLY HILLS, CA - OCTOBER 17: Singers Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, wearing Ferragamo, arrive at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts Inaugural Gala presented by Salvatore Ferragamo at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on October 17, 2013 in Beverly Hills, California. Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are divorcing. The No Doubt frontwoman filed for divorce from her husband of 13 years, with both parties citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their splitting.

The joint statement from the couple suggests this is an amicable split and reads: ?While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment.? The couple are parents to three sons – Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo. 17 months – and will be seeking joint custody.

Another sign that maturity will reign supreme in this separation? Gwen won’t be providing Gavin with spousal support, according to the Daily Mail and court documents. The couple wed in 2002 with two ceremonies in London and Los Angeles two weeks apart, and they chose not to sign a pre-nuptial agreement, meaning Gavin would be entitled to seek money from Gwen, who is allegedly worth $80 million. However, it seems that the Bush frontman is happy enough to get by on his pretty substantial personal fortune – he’s said to be worth $35 million. The couple split their time between their properties in London’s Primrose Hill and the States, but there is no word yet on who will remain where.

Gwen and Gavin met in 1995 and began dating after. No Doubt was touring as Bush’s support at the time and their relationship was initially low-key and rarely reported on.

While a lot of celebrity split headlines revolve around ?Is this the end of love?? rhetoric – see Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, ignore Will and Jada – we’re kind of happy about Gwen and Gavin. While a break-up is always sad, there’s something really heartening about one done well with both parties acting like adults, especially when there are children involved.

We wish Gwen and Gavin the best in their new life chapters.
