13 Uplifting Quotes To Read Today

darling just fucking own it quote in black and white

This week marks Depression Awareness Week. Whether you take a moment to check in with yourself, a friend or a family member who may be going through a hard time, know that it is totally ok to not be ok, and it’s absolutely ok to ask for help. Sometimes we go through bouts of depression for no apparent reason, other times; it can be an amalgamation of unfortunate circumstances that lead us to an unwelcome low point. For some, it’s an affliction that’s with them for many years, on which they have to keep continually a mindful eye. Whichever way you or anybody else may arrive at depression, know that it is real but know that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Today, we take a moment to practice a little mindfulness, to become totally present with ourselves and silence the noise that surrounds us daily. If we’re feeling below par, we’re going to practice some self-compassion. If it’s the person sitting beside us who’s feeling down, we’re going to find a way to make them feel good, even if it’s just for a moment. Below you’ll find some of our favourite, most uplifting quotes and mantras. Find yours and repeat it often.

This one’s from Liz Gilbert’s Eat Pray Love. This is not a conversation between two people, it’s between Liz and herself and it’s one of our all time favourites.

Have you got a quote to live by?
