What we’d change if we ever went into lockdown again

As the latest 'variant of interest' known as Eris hits the headlines, distant alarm bells go off in the dark recess of our brains. The memories of ICU counts and banana bread and Joe Wicks over breakfast and Garda checkpoints at the bottom of our roads. While it's highly unlikely we'd ever have to shelter in place again, Amanda Cassidy is curious about how we'd change our experience of lockdown if we had a do-over.

Covid cases have significantly increased in Irish hospitals during the past two weeks, according to figures. The latest variant EG.5, known as Eris has swept through the country. In the UK, they are blaming the ‘Barbenheimer’ phenomenon; people congregating in cinemas to watch the Barbie or Oppenheimer movies.
