WATCH: Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams co-star in Netflix’s new Eurovision comedy

WATCH: Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams co-star in Netflix’s new Eurovision comedy

A hilarious new Eurovision film is coming to Netflix next month, featuring Will Ferrell, Rachel McAdams, Pierce Brosnan and Dan Stevens.

Will Ferrell recently released a trailer (well, more of a music video) for his upcoming comedy Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga and it looks gas!

The Blades of Glory-esque film follows Icelandic music duo Lars Erickssong (Ferrell) and Sigrit Ericksdottir (Rachel McAdams) in the world’s biggest song contest, Eurovision.

The competition is fierce, however, and they must hold their own against the likes of wild and always topless Russian popstar Alexander Lemtov (Dan Stevens) — a far cry from his previous Downton Abbey role.

The cast

Other stars to appear in the flamboyant film include Pierce Brosnan, Demi Lovato and Jamie Demetriou.

Ferrell co-wrote the film with the former head writer of Saturday Night Live, Andrew Steele, and the director is none other than David Dobkin of Wedding Crashers and Shanghai Knights fame.

In the recently released teaser, Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams perform one of their hit pop songs as Lars and Sigrit called “Volcano Man” in a suitably dramatic setting of snow, waterfalls and volcanic coast.

The trailer

The film will be released on Netflix on June 26 and will hopefully ease our pain of the actual Eurovision 2020 being cancelled.
