You have 2 days left to watch Gillian Anderson in A Streetcar Named Desire — for free

Tired of Netflix? Over on YouTube, you can watch the Young Vic’s critically acclaimed production of A Streetcar Named Desire for free.

When it was announced that Gillian Anderson was playing Blanche DuBois in the Young Vic’s production of A Streetcar Named Desire in 2014, theatre-goers had to beg, borrow and steal to get their hands on a ticket.

It became the fastest-selling Young Vic show of all time, the run was extended by two weeks and Anderson went on to win the Evening Standard Theatre Award for best actress for her role in the production.

Critics believe the actress gave the performance of her life in Tennessee Williams’ masterpiece — and now you can see it for yourself from the comfort of your sofa.

As part of the National Theatre’s At Home series, A Streetcar Named Desire will be available to watch on YouTube until 7pm on Thursday 28 May (you’ll need to start watching by 3.30pm on Thursday to ensure you see it all).

The At Home schedule continues with James Graham’s sell-out political production This House on May 28 and Coriolanus, starring Tom Hiddleston, on June 4.

To donate to the Young Vic, visit www.youngvic.org/support-us/donate-today. You can also text 10YOUNGVIC to 70470 to donate £10 or 20YOUNGVIC to 70470 to donate £20.
