The Most On-Trend Denim For SS17

The Most On-Trend Denim For SS17

It used to be enough to throw on a pair of skinnies and you were right on trend. Not this season. Denim offers a multitude of possibilities for spring/summer. These are the most on-trend looks of this season.

Super-wide

Seventies-style flares have almost become a classic. If you love a wide leg, but want to keep your denim look elevated and utterly on trend, go super-wide. For the most flattering silhouette, choose high-waisted jeans and wear with wedges for an elongated leg.

Eighties style

If you remember Bananarama, then the eighties pop band is your inspiration here.?A cropped jacket in a stone wash is just the thing to transform your outfit from meh to?totally modern. I love how this street style star has paired hers with a bottle green pencil skirt. Given that green is the pantone colour of this year, she’s right on the money with her contemporary and retro references.

Ladylike

Throw denim’s utilitarian association on its head by pairing a high-waisted, pleated skirt with tailored separates and a pair of ladylike shoes. The quirky Doors-motif box bag keeps this outfit looking chic rather than too sensible.

Fringed

Raw edges have replaced hems on jeans for a while now, but take it a step further this season by embracing fringing on a grander scale. Fringe detailing gives this indigo denim’more character as does?the exposed zip.

Double denim

If you’re going to wear denim, don’t be shy about it. Double up any which way you like: skirts over trousers, coats over dresses, tunics over culottes… anything goes this season.
