We’re In For a Totally Tropical Summer

Summer trends can always be relied on for a burst of fun. This year, the modern-tropical trend is going from strength to strength, so prepare for more palm tree prints, pineapples and plenty of pink…?

After the chaotic weather of the last few weeks, we’re welcoming this sudden burst sunshine with open (and bare) arms. Similarly?in interiors, the trend for riotous colour and pattern shows no sign of abating.

Last year’s popular tropical trend has carried well into 2016, influenced by the abundantly bold?fern, palm and banana leaf prints that have made a splash on the fashion catwalks, where brands like Proenza Schouler welcomed us to the equatorial jungle with?their Resort 2016 collection.

Interior designers such as the multi-talented Luke Edward Hall?continues to?incorporate similarly lush patterns and prints into his work, introducing?items that celebrate the almost?universal appeal?of this much-loved trend in new and exciting ways. Indeed Hall’s?house tour for Vogue‘demonstrates that his appreciation of tropical motifs even extends?into his own home.?In keeping with the related trend of bringing the outside in, wallpapers and fabrics featuring colourful tropical designs have been prominent throughout 2016.

Here’s our pick of 5 easy tropical updates.
