S’strene Grene Opens First Irish Store in Dun Laoghaire

Popular Danish retail chain S’strene Grene is set to?open its?first Irish store in?Dun Laoghaire this?Friday, and we’re going to be first in line…

Having only recently welcomed one of our favourite new stores, Nordic Makers, on Lower George’s Street, Dun Laoghaire is about to become home to another interior design lover’s wonderland. Opening on Friday,?S’strene Grene specialises in Scandinavian-style homewares, craft materials and accessories?at affordable prices. Colour us excited.

Management at the company’s Denmark HQ are equally enthusiastic about their Irish launch, with managing director and co-owner?Mikkel Grene saying, “We hope our customers are as excited about the opening as we are.? Mikkel would probably be delighted to know that our team have been sneaking lunchtime peeks in the windows of the store all week, watching the shelves being’stocked, like impatient children looking for?a glimpse of Santa’s workshop.

Having begun?with a single store in Aarhus, Denmark, in 1973, the family-owned company now has more than 100 stores worldwide.?Based around the?two widely travelled Grene sisters, Anna and Clara, who founded the brand, they are known for’distinctive design and authentic creativity.

Their Christmas catalogue is a smorgasbord of gorgeousness, inspired by “raw Nordic nature, as well as charming and delightful fairytales”. We especially love their wrapping paper, starting from the ridiculously reasonable price of 98c per roll.

Pop down Friday for a look if you’re in the area – we defy you not to pick up some Christmas bargains!
