One of the world’s leading Italian chefs Francesco Mazzei was in Dublin this week for The House of Peroni Presents: An Italian Feast;?a decadent five-course dinner hosted by Peroni Nastro Azzurro in Charlotte Quay restaurant. Francesco served up a specially created, seasonal feasting menu for 60 guests, paying homage to Italy and the ingredients unique to the country’s rich landscape.

Guests enjoyed Peroni Nastro Azzurro on arrival and two Peroni-infused cocktails paired with the feast. The enticing menu featured an array of antipasti dishes, followed by tortelli filled with burrata, liquorice-cured baccal? (salt cod), and a magnificent roast lamb with artichokes. Dessert was a fragrant crema al bergamotto (bergamot cream) served with bitter chocolate sorbet and a selection of handmade pasticcini (fine Italian pastries).

Francesco Mazzei has been chef patron at Sartoria restaurant in Mayfair’s Savile Row since June 2015 and has long been considered one of London’s best chefs. Born and raised in Calabria, ?Mazzei has opened restaurants in Edinburgh, Milan, Bangkok and London. His first cookbook, Mezzogiorno, was published in 2015. Yet another vehicle with which to showcase the edible delights of Southern Italy, he describes his cooking style as ?Mamma’s cooking with chef hands?.

The House of Peroni Presents will return in 2017 with a new series of events that celebrate uniquely Italian occasions. See www.thehouseofperoni.com for updates or follow Peroni Ireland onFacebook, Twitter or Instagram.
